Background
The college of social science and humanity is established in 2013 and now it’s one of the largest colleges in the university. The College of Social Sciences and Humanities encourages student growth and development by providing opportunities to broaden service, social, and cultural perspectives through teaching and community involvement in Internships. The College encourages active participation of students in extra-curricular activities on and off campus to provide them a holistic educational experience and prepare students to become responsible, caring members of society.
The college now offers two undergraduate programs namely as;
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work
- Bachelor Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication
The College is committed to an academic environment that encourages students to develop as scholars. Our highly qualified academics promote and encourage our students’ critical and creative thinking, participative educational experiences, field works and research, and a supportive learning community.
Our school of social work provides a bachelor’s degree in Social Work which is based on theories from social work, the social sciences, the humanities and indigenous knowledge. Our Degree program encourages students to engage people and structures to address life changes and enhance well-being. This program is designed to focuses on the research, intervention and social assessment of the community social needs to promote change, problem-solving in human relations, and the empowerment and freedom of society in order to enhance well-being and cohesion.
This Bachelor program of Social Work equips students with a solid foundation in social work theories and practices. It explores major human behavior theories and their application to real-world issues and individuals. The program helps students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the demanding field of social work through coursework focused on topics such as social welfare and policy, psychology, human development, morals and ethics, and community development.
The program will enable the students to use a range of prevention and intervention methods in their practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. Upon the completion of the program, they would apply ethical principles and critical thinking in practice to enhance or restore social functioning of individual, families, groups and communities.

Our 3-years bachelor degree in journalism came upon the growing need of qualified journalists equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, as well as standard ethical behavior needed for any individual in the fields of journalism and communication. This program generally covers topics including the fundamentals of writing news copy, the different styles of writing for different types of media and ethical standards of reporting.
This program is designed to teach our students of Journalism and mass communication how to research stories, write compelling copy and meet a deadline. Our Bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication not only help our students learn the technical skills associated with the field of journalism and communication but also the interpersonal skills required to succeed in the field. As the field of journalism is established on truth, autonomy, and transparency, the course provides a holistic knowledge at both theoretical and practical level. This degree gives students a simple and easy understanding of all aspects of mass communication, starting from history to contemporary journalism.
