The University of Hargeisa has signed a memorandum of Understanding with Alabama State University in the USA. Denise David-Maye, who is a professor at the Department of Social Work at Alabama State University, and Dr. Melanie Porter together with Dr. Meroune Lakehal-ayat from Bahir Dar University paid a visit to the University of Hargeisa for completing this agreement.
In general, this MoU enables the two Universities to cooperate in many areas including staff and student exchange programs, exchange of materials and equipment, joint degree programs, and scholarships. The faculties of social work at both Universities will particularly benefit from this agreement. The Director of the school of graduate studies Mr. Fuad Obsiye and the Director of IPCS Dr. Nasir M. Ali also received the delegates in their offices to discuss further collaborative activities.
